Choice Home Care Administration, Staff Absorbed by Replacement Organisation
07/01/2015
Cumbria’s home care provider has gone through administration but staff need not worry as their positions are secured.
A spokesperson from Cumbria County Council told North-West Evening Mail last December 30, 2014 that a new provider, Human Support Group, has been contracted to assume the services being provided by the former organisation, Choice Healthcare Limited.
Choice Healthcare has been providing care services for various local authorities throughout UK for almost four decades. Prior to Choice Healthcare, Cumbria employed the services of 360 Healthcare Limited since 2001. However, 360 Healthcare also went into administration during the early part of 2014, which prompted Cumbria’s Council to transfer services to Choice Healthcare. Unfortunately, the latter also went into administration by the end of 2014.
The County Council spokesperson said the home care’s clients will be given the exact level and quality of service they have previously received from past providers. Elderly as well as individuals who are vulnerable are the primary clients of Cumbria’s home care provider. Services range from assistance in various personal care activities essential to an elderly’s daily living, including preparation as well as cooking of meals.
North-West Evening Mail was informed by the administrators that the transfer of the operations of Choice Healthcare to Human Support Group ensures continued service to the clients and is also a positive development for the carers who are assured of their job security.
Cumbria’s County Council also said their clients are assured continued receipt of “the same level of care and support that has been in place.”
