A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, that is why the first step I'm taking towards my career goal is gaining qualifications and training in care. Growing up in Zimbabwe surrounded by people with special needs especially family members and having to provide care for them at a young age with no experience whatsoever and being able to deliver made me realise I want to care for others as a career. At 18 I decided to join the care community as a healthcare assistant in a care home, and given the right training I would bean ideal candidate for live in care because of my caring passion previous experience. I have 2 years of experience working as a Support Worker in a 24 service residential care home, in a mental health service. I have previously worked as a volunteer in an older persons care home. I am a friendly, positive and caring individual. I like helping people to improve their lives by supporting them in areas that need attention. As a support worker in a mental health service i encourage people to be be more proactive in their daily living skills, finding meaningful activities, managing their money, and much more. I am looking for a live in care job because i enjoy caring for people, i have no dependants and i am a single person with no responsibility, with the exception of a dog. I would prefer to work in a setting where i get to have my own accommodation where i can still be with my dog. I dont drive which is also why i would prefer to be in a place where no travel is required, although i have no problems with public transport. ...

I manage and recruit team members and staff to deliver an effective and successful 12 Week Programme, leading to national qualifications in employability, teamwork and community projects. Team has a target audience of NEET's individuals, Young Offenders and In/Leaving Care individuals, whilst also hitting and providing provision for young people with severe learning difficulties, homeless and hard to reach. To inflict and influence change on a young persons life, through careful mentoring and supportive learning; in addition to seeing them progress and achieve, is truly satisfying and although the role comes with many tough and enduring moments, the results are positive. ...
