i am a hard working person, committed and compassionate care assistent. i got 6 month experience working with autistic children and adult aswell as the elderly. i worked as dommicilery care. I visited my clients at their house, first thing i give them shower , help them dress up , make them breakfast of their choice and give them their medications. I make sure they are safe and sound before I leave them. i am an empathec person and i like to see my clients progress and happy , i would like to work as a care assistant again as i missed it soo much . i hope i get the job i look forward ...

I am looking for a live in support position as a companion/carer from October 2024. The areas in which I am seeking to be employed in are (preferably) the South or South West areas of England. I am 65 years old, in excellent health with a good sense of humour and a passion for gardening and walking. I enjoy animals, reading and cooking and have great empathy and love for the elderly. For the past 5 years I have been a live in carer with a dear elderly lady who suffered from Alzheimer’s . I have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in her everyday life, taking her on outings, working with her in the garden and supporting her in her gentle lifestyle. My role evolved from an initial companion to one of full personal care as her condition gradually advanced. Sadly she has now moved into a care home. I have no encumbrances and am free to travel. I am a self-employed living carer and my aim is to work with the clients to ensure that their lives are lived fully and independently as possible in their own environment. I have been a Live- In Carer for the last 7 years, caring for people especially those who are experiencing difficulties like stroke and dementia but before that I worked as a Social Care Assessor my role involved assessing clients care needs. I have cared for my sister who had a stroke which lead dementia. Her early signs of dementia she suffered a memory loss that disrupted her daily activities, difficulty completing small tasks in the house, making plans and solving a problem, confused with places and times, misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps, making poor judgments, withdrawing from social life, changes in mood and personality, forgetting her family members, difficulty to speak or write words, scared to have a conversation, that reduced her level of independence. When my sister went into a supported accommodation I developed an interest in looking after people who had similar condition like my sister. This episode with caring for my sister has given me the opportunity, experience and desire to continue in this role. Caring for my sister taught me a lot, I have become very patient with everything I do, I have learnt to respect others regardless of what they are and do. I am an approachable person, I have the ability to build a good working relationship with staff, clients and their families. I have the ability to deal with difficult situations and challenges. Since I became a Self Employed Live-In Carer I read the clients care plan to make sure that I will meet the standard required for the job before applying i.e. my skills and experience. I have come more reliable and honest as a live-in carer, professional with good time keeping and able to use my own initiative.at all times without supervision. I always do carry out risk assessments ensuring that the clients feel safe, secure, and comfortable in their own home. I have learnt to work hand in hand with other professionals i.e. police, emergency services (ambulance crew, fire brigade), GP, nurses, social workers, family representatives etc and report concerns immediately to my immediate supervisor.
