I am 53 years of age and have been working in the care industry for 20 years. I have worked in a residential school for children and young adults with PMLD, here I gained my NVQ 3. Subsequently I have many years experience as a support worker in the community, mainly working with elderly clients. Currently I am working with young adults with learning difficulties and mental health problems.
Fairly recently I supported a man to live in his own home. This man had Parkinsons disease and related dementia. I would like the opportunity to return to live-in care work as I found the pace of work better suited to providing a thorough and personalised approach.
