I am a well mature, responsible and hard-working individual, who always strives to achieve the highest possible standards, with excellent communication skills and ability to relate to wide range of people, confident and very enthusiastic individual who is competent in supporting vulnerable people in residential environment. I am also able to work well in a team environment in harmony with colleagues and administrators as well as on initiative with the aim of sharing ideas and resources for the total development and achievement of set targets. A recent graduate in Health Well-being and Social Care and currently looking for an exciting career in Social Care sector.
I have more than 10 years’ experience of working with vulnerable adults in nursing homes, residential, NHS hospitals and community environments. I have supported vulnerable adults with complex needs including those with mental health problems such as depression, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. I have also worked with individuals who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and dementia. I understand the various needs of people who are disadvantaged in the community as well as the importance of being a caring, compassionate and competent person as every individual needs to be treated fairly. By undertaking one to one care in clients’ homes I gained experience of drawing-up support plans and working in partnership with service users and other health professionals. I am able to motivate and empower people who are vulnerable so that they live a constructive, independent and settled life.
I consider myself of having effective communication skills since I am confident enough of working with service users from different backgrounds using a person centred approach. With my own background knowledge I can be able to provide the individual's appropriate range of cognitive behaviour therapy basing on self-management intervention to individuals depending on their psychological, physical and emotional conditions. I have working experience of shift leading of support workers that includes providing support, feedback and guidance.
I have received training and possess experience of working with vulnerable people holding different beliefs and from diverse communities and cultures as well as successfully mentored and supported people to enable them to participate effectively within society. At a practical level this has included provision of one to one support and encouragement through shared activities including physical exercises, singing, and cooking.
