Job Description

Live in Carer for 3 weeks 1 week off. 

The carer needs to enjoy cooking homemade meals and, possibly, gardening at a rural home. For an elderly, active lady, 91 years old, who loves her garden and lives with dementia. The lady spends every day in the garden and loves home-cooked meals—homemade soups, jacket potatoes and salads, roast chicken and vegetables, steak pies, and homemade cakes. The lady is able to do her own personal care and puts herself to bed. 

The carer will be required to support with medication which is taken twice daily morning and evening. The carer will be asked to collect the morning paper each day from the village shop. The village shop is 15 minutes walk away and is open at 8.30 am.   

There is a shower room, bedroom, and sitting room for the carer to relax during her 2-hour breaks. 

Please be able to cook for the lady gardener who visits twice a week for lunch and odd guess who will eat whatever you are cooking. 

Needs for chatting and general companionship. Lady is mobile and often walks around her garden which she enjoys at different times of the day and will constantly weed her garden. Needs help moving the weeds to the rubbish bin. 

Shopping, laundry, general housework including putting out the bins, cooking, medications and possible light gardening tasks under the guidance of the lady who you care for.
