Job Description

Private live-out personal assistant/carer needed in Ealing (W5), London, for a 32 year-old man who has muscular dystrophy. This means that all his muscles are very weak and that he needs help with everything. He uses an electric wheelchair. The job includes helping with personal care, transfers, turning at night (about twice) and eating. There are electric hoists so no manual lifting is needed. Training will be given. 

You will share this man's 24-hour care with other live-out PAs, typically working 1 or 2 night shifts and 1 or 2 day shifts per week. A night shift is 10:30pm until 9:30am and a day shift is 9:30am until 10:30pm, but these can be flexible. PAs usually cover for each other's absences. 

You must be allowed to work in the UK and you should be friendly and patient, be prepared to work flexibly, not smoke inside and have good English. It is best if you live nearby.
