Job Description

36-year-old lady with complex health needs seeking a female live-in carer/support worker to help me live independently within my own two-bedroomed bungalow.

I require support with all personal care tasks, mobility, preparation of food, maintaining a clean and tidy home, and to respond to seizures. I have a power chair to use outside of the home and a wheelchair-adapted vehicle that I would need you to drive.

I enjoy going on outings to the shops, walks, going to the occasional show, and attending craft fairs. It may take me a little bit of time to get to know you so it would be helpful if you are able to share my sense of humour. It would also be helpful if you are able to enjoy the activities that we would do together.

Being reliable, proactive, being able to lead a conversation, and having a quick reaction when needed are essential qualities that I need. You must be able to work in a household with a dog and a cat.  You will be responsible for looking after the cat for me.

As a result of my health needs, it is important that you are a non-smoker/vapour. I also have a hypersensitivity to smells such as perfume, spray deodorant, hair products, and washing machine detergents and these products impact significantly on my health and well-being. It is therefore important that you are able to work in accordance with established care plans.

Previous live-in carer experience essential and an understanding of autism are desirable.  There will be an initial period of shadowing my senior PA. A rota of two weeks on then two weeks off with two live-in PAs required. This role can only be PAYE.  You must already live in the UK and be legally able to work here.
