Job Description

My name is Peter Henry and I sustained a spinal injury some 20-plus years ago. It left me paralysed and wheelchair-bound. I have needed live-in carers ever since to help me live my life in the way I would like to.

My interests are wide-ranging; from good food and wine (particularly red), through to live concerts, international travel and cars (particularly my modified Jaguar coupe!). That being said I am equally at home in my home.

Carers, or Personal Assistants as we call them, who work with me tend to be people who have a bit of spark, personality and a good sense of humour. Not forgetting a sense of perspective. I am grateful for their help, but equally, I don't want to be patronised in my own home simply because I'm not able-bodied. I know it's a difficult role, but I like to think an interesting one!

That's why I founded Origin some years ago, to help other people like me find great carers like you. I am recruiting now for my company and would like you to apply as we are running our specialist free training course.

You don't need any experience, just a good personality and attitude.

Your starting pay will be £987, per 7 days worked, after four months there is our Performance Reward Scheme, meaning further pay increases for dedicated PA's, up to a current maximum of £1162pw.  There is also a bonus scheme of £500 after 6 months. You do need a full driving licence though and to be over 21 for insurance purposes. We will also sponsor you for your Further Educational courses.
