Job Description

Hi, I am a 39  year-old woman living near Tamworth, Staffordshire.

In 2002 I sustained a spinal cord injury paralysing me from the shoulders down leaving me wheelchair-dependent.  As such I require assistance with all my personal care needs and domestic tasks within my home.

Despite being unable to move below the level of my injury I do have full sensation which means I often feel uncomfortable and need to be repositioned in my wheelchair/bed regularly. As a result manual handling is a vital part of this job role. Training will be taught by myself and my permanent staff as well as my physiotherapist

I currently employ two carers and now looking to employ a further two carers for full-time work. The shift pattern currently runs a two-week on, two-week off cycle. You may also be required to cover absences and holiday shifts. 

During the day you will be required to assist me in dog walking, cycling, using my hydro pool and other exercises and general day-to-day living. I have an adapted car which you will be required to drive to take me and my small dog out, shopping and out socially on occasions when required.
